COSTA MESA – Rutan & Tucker partner William T. Eliopoulos has been named to the list of Northern California Super Lawyers in his practice area, Construction Law.
The Super Lawyers list is compiled by Seattle, Wash.-based Law & Politics magazine and represents the top tier of the area’s attorneys as rated and reviewed by their peers.

Eliopoulos is a member of Rutan & Tucker’s Trial Section and Construction Law Group, resident in the firm’s Silicon Valley Office. His primary area of practice is complex construction and real estate litigation. He has more than 20 years of experience as a litigator, including the representation of contractors, developers, public entities and designers in connection with complex claims of all sorts, including delay and disruption, change orders, the False Claims Act, contract termination, construction defect, bid protest, and mechanic’s lien disputes. He also serves as a neutral in alternative dispute resolution proceedings including assignment as a pro tem settlement judge for the Santa Clara County Superior Court.
Prior to recently rejoining Rutan & Tucker, the firm at which he started his career as an attorney in 1981, Eliopoulos was a founding partner of Bergeson Eliopoulos LLP, and before that was a litigation associate at Thelen, Marrin, Johnson & Bridges, in its San Jose, California, office. He received his J.D. in 1981 from the University of California, Davis, Law School, where he was Editor of the Law Review and a Hopkins Award winner. He is an instructor of Construction Law in the University of California, Berkeley, Extension Program.
