PALTO ALTO, Calif., September 18, 2008 –Veteran San Francisco Bay Area government law attorney Ash Pirayouhas joined Rutan & Tucker, LLP, California's largest full-service law firm based in Orange County, as a partner in the firm's Palo Alto office.
In 1997, Pirayou established the Pirayou Law Office and for the past decade, his practice has focused on government law, including procurement, land use, redevelopment, affordable housing, and government relations including lobbying.
He is also a campaign finance law specialist, having worked with political action committees (PACs) and corporations on all aspects of campaign finance laws. Pirayou previously served as the principal aide to the Santa Clara County Crime Task Force. In 1997, he was the special counsel to the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office and a deputy district attorney in Santa Clara County.
A graduate of Santa Clara University, he received his law degree from the university's School of Law in 1995 and his undergraduate degree in Political Science in 1992 with Phi Beta Kappa honors.
Today, he is an adjunct lecturer in the university's Political Science Department, teaching seminars relating to politics and campaigns in Silicon Valley. He has served as a member of the university's Board of Fellows, San Jose Sports Authority, Support Network for Battered Women and the Bay Area Lupus Foundation.
