Jon Williams’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and general corporate matters. He regularly represents private companies and their owners in mergers and acquisitions and other major transactions. Jon also has experience representing both lenders and borrowers in debt financing transactions. Prior to joining Rutan & Tucker, Jon worked as an associate in the Private Equity group within the Corporate practice at Paul Hastings LLP in Costa Mesa.
Jon received his J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2015, where he graduated first in his class and served as a Lead Articles Editor of the San Diego Law Review. While in law school, he served as a judicial extern to the Honorable William M. Monroe of the Superior Court of California for the County of Orange and the Honorable Christopher B. Latham of the United States Bankruptcy Court and as an extern to the California Department of Business Oversight Enforcement Division.
He received his B.S. in Accounting and Business Administration, magna cum laude, from the Argyros School of Business and Economics at Chapman University in 2010. Prior to attending law school, Jon was a California certified public accountant and a member of the Private Company Services tax group at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Irvine.
