Overview
William Plants is a Patent Agent in the firm’s Intellectual Property group and is focused primarily on patent preparation and prosecution. He has prosecuted patents in the area of field programmable gate arrays (architecture, software, and circuitry), semiconductor processing, microcontrollers, low power designs, radiation tolerant circuitry, telecom, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and DRAM, SRAM, and flash memories.
Before working in patent law, William was a semiconductor design engineer for 25 years. He became a named inventor on 108 US patents working on field programable gate arrays, color palettes (RAMDACs), video controllers, and airborne radar signal processors. He has substantial experience in supporting patent licensing, acquisition, enforcement, and litigation.
