Overview

Haley Aufill is an associate in Rutan & Tucker's Litigation and Trial department, where she represents clients in a variety of business and commercial litigation matters. Her practice includes business and intentional torts, business contract cases, construction defect and delay claims, and real property disputes, among others.

Prior to joining Rutan & Tucker, Haley clerked for the Honorable Bradley S. Phillips in the civil unlimited division of the Los Angeles County Superior Court from 2024 to 2026. During her clerkship, Haley drafted a high volume of rulings on a wide range of civil motions involving various practice areas.

Before her clerkship, Haley represented clients in a range of business, commercial, and real estate matters. She has experience at all stages of litigation, including serving as a “second chair” in a high-profile trial involving an eight-figure real property dispute.

Haley is a "double-Bruin" who attended UCLA for both undergrad and law school. She received her J.D. from the UCLA School of Law, with a specialization in Media, Entertainment, Technology, & Sports Law. Throughout law school, Haley worked as a Research Assistant to multiple law professors, including Eugene Volokh, and was thanked for her contributions to law review articles published in the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy and the Hastings Law Journal. She competed in Moot Court, served on the board of the Intellectual Property Law Association (IPLA), and was a member of UCLA Law Women LEAD.

Prior to law school, Haley graduated summa cum laude from UCLA with a B.A. in Communications, focusing on legal and political communications, particularly constitutional law and the intersection of law and technology.  During undergrad, she competed on the UCLA Debate Team, worked as a Teaching Assistant for five undergraduate courses, and was an Illustrator for the Daily Bruin.
