Overview
Kelsey Quist has significant litigation experience in both civil and criminal matters. She is actively involved in all aspects of litigation and has been successful in mediating and settling several high exposure cases, defending and taking depositions, negotiating settlements, and preparing for trial.
Ms. Quist works closely with some of our largest city clients and public agencies, some of which include: Irvine, Laguna Beach, Claremont, Menifee, Dana Point, Poway, Yuima Municipal and Orange County Water Districts. She is also specifically responsible for interfacing with our clients’ police departments, which includes reviewing “Use of Force” policies, revising and negotiating contracts, defending Pitchess motions, advising executive staff on COVID-19 enforcement issues, and responding to subpoenas, discovery requests, and Public Records Act requests. Ms. Quist has also handled several high-profile litigation matters for our Land Use Department, and works closely with our Land Use, Environmental, and Litigation and Trial attorneys as a vital member of Rutan’s litigation team.
Ms. Quist was recently chosen as one of Best Lawyers 2021 “Ones to Watch,” which recognizes extraordinary lawyers who have been in private practice for less than 10 years. This selection is entirely based on peer review and less than one percent of the total lawyers in each state are accepted for membership inclusion in Best Attorneys of America.
Ms. Quist is a Princeton graduate where she played NCAA Division 1 Softball and still currently holds the school’s record for most homeruns in a season.
