Kevin Hennessy is an associate in Rutan’s Intellectual Property Practice Group, where he focuses on patent prosecution and IP strategy. As a registered patent practitioner, he assists clients in developing and protecting patent portfolios across a broad spectrum of technologies, including medical devices, software and AI systems, healthcare, and aerospace applications.
Kevin received his J.D. from Chapman University, Dale E. Fowler School of Law, graduating cum laude. While in law school, he served as Managing Editor of the Chapman Law Review, President of the Intellectual Property Law Society, and a member of the Moot Court team, competing in multiple national competitions focused on complex IP issues. Kevin completed his undergraduate degree at the University of California, San Diego, earning a B.S. in Chemical Engineering.
