COSTA MESA, Calif., May 00, 2010 – Heather Herd, a senior associate at Rutan & Tucker, LLP, California’s largest full-service law firm based in Orange County, recently appeared on KOCE-TV public television’s Real Orange news program. As a volunteer member of the Board of Directors of Volunteer Center Orange County (VCOC), Herd was interviewed about the nonprofit organization’s 34th Annual Spirit of Volunteerism Awards celebration, which was held on April 15 at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim. Herd also commented on the importance of volunteering and her firm’s longstanding commitment to giving back to the community. Several other Rutan attorneys have also provided pro bono legal services for the organization. The event honored hundreds of volunteers and earned $130,000 for VCOC, which is committed to mobilizing volunteer action and accelerating nonprofit success through volunteer training, consulting and business services. The Disneyland Resort received the “Giving is Living Award” for its leadership in promoting the value of family volunteerism in Orange County.
