Irvine, CA – June 11, 2024 – Rutan is pleased to announce that Corporate Partner Kelly Galligan has been chosen by the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division as one of its “On the Rise” lawyers for 2024. She is one of 40 attorneys nationwide chosen for this honor which recognizes young lawyers who exemplify a broad range of high achievement in both legal and community service.
“It’s an incredible honor to be recognized by the ABA and among my peers,” says Galligan. “This award not only celebrates my journey but also shines a light on the potential for young lawyers to drive meaningful change in both their professions and communities.”
The attorneys were chosen for their work pertaining to service to the community, service to the legal profession, leadership, vision, innovation, and professional achievement. The awards and subgrant committee under the chief judge and marketing director selected the winners based on their ability to excel in all categories.
Galligan, who is based in Rutan’s Irvine office, leads complex mergers and acquisitions ranging from $5 million to $500 million. She also acts as outside general counsel for a diverse portfolio of private companies. Through Galligan’s involvement with the Public Law Center and Veteran’s Legal Institute, she offers pro bono legal services, leveraging her legal expertise for the greater good. Her leadership extends to her role as President of Project Youth OCBF, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering at-risk youth in Orange County. Within the legal community, she serves as a Board Member of the Orange County Bar Association (OCBA), and Past President of the Orange County Women Lawyers Association (OCWLA), the OCWLA Foundation, and the OCBA Young Lawyers Division.
