Rutan LLP advised The Roadmaster Group and its owner Lyons Capital in a deal with Daseke Inc., announced on Dec. 4.

Daseke, one of the largest owners of flatbed equipment in North America, bought The Roadmaster Group, a high-security cargo carrier based in Phoenix.

Adding The Roadmaster Group strengthens Daseke’s position in a niche market with limited carriers, according to a news release.  The Roadmaster Group is also the parent company for Tri-State, a high-security cargo carrier founded in the 1930s.

Daseke also announced it bought two other trucking firms, TSH & Co. and Moore Freight Service.  The three acquisitions will give Daseke $1.2 billion pro forma in revenue, according to a news release.  The company started in 2009.

Ellis G. Wasson (pictured), a Costa Mesa partner, led the Rutan team, which included partner Rachel A. Simon, along with associates Winny Young, Matthew Carruth and Kelly Galligan.
