IRVINE, CA – Rutan & Tucker announced the addition of Alex Swanson as a Senior Counsel in its Litigation and Trial section. Mr. Swanson represents businesses in civil litigation including environmental and mass toxic tort litigation, Proposition 65 defense, and CERCLA cost recovery actions. He joins Rutan & Tucker from Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.

Mr. Swanson counsels clients through all stages of complex litigation in state and federal courts, from initial pleadings through trial and appeal, as well as mediation and arbitration. He has also handled contract disputes, business torts, and patent litigation involving pharmaceuticals and medical devices.

Mr. Swanson graduated from University of Chicago Law School with a J.D. in 2011 and received his M.S. in 2008 from the University of Arizona. In 2005, he graduated cum laude with a B.S. from Cornell University.
