COSTA MESA, California, June 7, 2011 – More than 300 lawyers, judges, dignitaries, law students and business leaders attended the recent Orange County Asian Bar Association Annual Installation Dinner, which honored two outstanding attorneys and a local company and installed the 2011 and 2012 officers and board of directors of the Association.
The event was one of the largest in the Association’s history and was sponsored by over 25 local law firms and businesses. The organization’s Trailblazer Award went to Carol Lam, senior vice president and deputy general counsel for Qualcomm Incorporated, who was also the event’s keynote speaker. The Hon. Arthur Nakazato, magistrate judge, United States District Court, Central District, and the founding president of the organization, received the Lifetime Achievement Award. The Corporate Service Award was given to Kia Motors America. Held at the Villa Restaurant in Westminster, the event was emceed by John Hueston, partner at Irell & Manella, and planned by Gloria Lee, an associate at Rutan & Tucker, LLP, California largest full-service law firm headquartered in Orange County, who is now the Association’s president.
Lee focuses on the financing and development of commercial, residential and resort properties as a member of the Rutan & Tucker’s Real Estate Department. Her practice includes representing lenders, developers, landlords and tenants in all aspects of real estate transactions, including real estate secured financings, acquisitions, dispositions, title review and due diligence analysis. Lee also has experience with the structuring, development and regulation of residential, commercial, timeshare, and fractional use planned developments and associations. She was named one of OC Metro Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 business professionals in Orange County in 2010.
